FAQ

Lime Marketing

When it’s become time for you to select the recipient list from Lime CRM, to do it successfully, follow these steps:

  1. Select recipients tab (on the left upper corner).
  2. Now you have two options either to add a recipients list or to import recipients. Select add recipients list.
  3. From the panel on you the left, select Lime CRM.
  4. Find the recipients list you want to send the e-mail to and press on add selected list.
  5. DONE!

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to embed a video to your newsletter. What you can do is to insert a picture (from the actual video) and add a URL link to the YouTube video from the inserted picture.

There are four different categories of bounces – hard, soft, spam, transient, auto responder and others.

Hard bounce means that the recipient address does not exist (eg the domain has ceased to exist or the e-mail address is misspelled).

Soft bounces are temporary bounces, such as a full inbox.

Spam is when the recipient’s spam filter thinks that the message should be classified as spam and therefore the send out is not delivered to the recipient.

Transient is a temporary bounce. The server was down when we tried to send and we could not deliver the email within 4 days.

Auto responder means e.g. out of office notifications or notification that the recipient has left work or changed email address.

Other bounces end up with the bounces that Lime Marketing cannot interpret, where the bounce code and text deviate from the standard.

A publication is folder and can be categorized as newsletters, events, campaigns, press info, or make publications directed for different languages. Each publication has its own sender information and templates.

Publications handles subscriptions (opt-in) and opt-outs automatically. This means that a recipient can choose not to receive more mailings from the publication newsletter but still receive press info, as they are sent from another publication.

How do I use and customize social media cards?

What are Social Media Cards?

Social media cards allow you to customize how the link to your newsletter/email will display on social media. This means that if a subscriber shares the web-based version of your newsletter, you have control over what image, title, and descriptive text appears in the link preview. Social media cards allow you to have more control over your brand.

The image above is an example of a link preview that has been customized in Lime Marketing.

How to use customize Social Media Cards in Lime Marketing?

The settings for social media cards are found under Design in the editor (Social media card settings). You have the option to customize the title, image, alt-text, and description that will render on social media. You may preview the social media card for your newsletter/email on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Page title: A page title is the first bold text that appears in the link preview. It should be used to clearly describe what the content behind the link is!

Image: You can select any image. The image you select does not have to be in your email, it can be uploaded especially for being used in the link preview. This means you can create custom images to appear only on social media that won’t need to be used in your email.

Alt text: Describe the appearance of your image. Alt text is used in HTML to understand what the content is that you’re sharing.

Description: The description gives you control over the explanatory text that appears under the title. It’s a great opportunity to provide quick details about what a viewer can expect if they click the link. The description should contain at least 100 characters.

The social media card settings use Open Graph protocol, which allows you to insert HTML tags in your email content. Open Graph is shortened as “og”, which is why the items you can customize are labeled as “og:____”. For example, “og:title” steers the Page Title that you can choose to display on the preview of your link.
